Illinois River Bluff Trail Vlog

June 21st, 2008

After I heard the Peoria Park District wa developing a three phase trail project to connect Camp Wokanda to Detwiller I had to hike it and see it for myself. I was pleasantly suprised to find well managed trail system. There were bridges that were built by local Eagle Scouts and a trail that for the most part, was scenic.

The trail starts at Camp Wokanda and heads South Robinson Park. From Robinson, you cross Mossville Rd and there you will find a small parking lot with a trailhead. Turn Left and follow the trail to Illinois 6. Take a break cause it’s a 3 mile trek back to Robinson Park. All in all, it’s a 9 or 10 mile hike one way, and back again.

I did a video log of what you might expect to see. Hope you get a feel for the trail. It’s an easy trail, so take your time and enjoy. But get out there.

To see more Trail Vlogs, go to my other site thebackpacker.tv Go the Video page.(I just put some really cool stuff on it)
