Desert Hiking is no Picnic

April 28th, 2008

Who had this idea to go out into a Wilderness Canyon in the desert and go hike? News Flash: When they say bring lots of water, bring lots of water. Sycamore Canyon kicked my butt.

The temps here have only gotton up to the mid 80’s, but when you are hiking along bed rock in the middle of the afternoon, it’s more like 95 degrees. Hot, hot, hot. Add the fact that you have to ration your water, it makes for a long day. I have plenty of video and pics I’ll be posting when I get back. The good news however, I didn’t have to be air rescued. The bad news is, blisters hurt like hell.
