Strip club keeps license despite having 12-year-old dancer
Yea, had to read this headline twice when I first came across it. Now comes the Insanity;
A strip club in Dallas won’t be penalized for allowing a 12-year-old runaway to work as a dancer for two weeks in late 2007, the Morning News reports. (there link is broken)
“There’s a laundry list of things we can use to deny or revoke a license, but having a 12-year-old dancing in their establishment is not one of the things that automatically enables us to revoke their license,”
police Lt. Christina Smith, who oversees the strip-club permit process, tells the paper.
Two people have been charged with felonies in connection with the sixth-grader’s work at Diamonds Cabaret. “Police officials are continuing to investigate whether the club’s management knew she was underage,” the paper says.
I wonder how long it will be until we (Peoria) see’s a headline like this at Big Als? How many “incidents” do you think we don’t know about? I would imagine there are many.
