Local Assignment Editor…Ooops!

Not to judge anyone for making a mistake, lord only knows I’ve made a bundle recently, but Assignment Editor Leon Hicks from WEEK TV appears on the Peoria Police Departments Vice Units Web Site. As I perodically glance as what I call the “Damn #@%&#@! I got Busted, web site”, you know, to see if anyone I know just made a huge “oooops”. I noticed Leon’s pic. I also check it out anytime a potential new tenant wants to rent from me.
If you don’t remember, Leon made some noise about downtown bars discriminating based on race. You can read the Peoria Journal Star with Leon’s quote here. Leon also appears in several WEEK articles on their web site.
Last year on that site, a local business owner appeared on the Vice Unit site, but nobody ever picked that up that story. His picture has since been removed. I only noticed him, becuase I had just bought a ton of furniture from his place.
I feel bad for Leon, but an Assignemt Editor for a news agency should clearly know better.
