Justifiable homicide in a “Crack House”?
February 25th, 2006
I think Peoria Police and States Attorney’s office have lost there mind. In the story this week about the father and son police pegged for the slaying of a Peoria man inside a crack house, has taken an all new turn of insanity. The apparent suspect(s) will not face charges in connection with the stabbing death. The State’s Attorney’s Office said this was a Justifiable Homicide.
Ok, so this was a “justifiable homicide” according to Kevin Lyons. However, is somebody missing the point that the incident takes place…IN A CRACK HOUSE?. The Peoria Pundit has it exactly right when they say, “So they were just sitting around sipping diet cokes and discussing “American Idol“? No additional arrests were made. Nobody from the Crack house….doing Crack were arrested.
I can just here how the interogation went:
Police: “What did you see“?
Crack Head: ”Yea, I hate when I’m doing crack and a drug addict comes in waving a gun”. “Man, can’t a guy do crack anymore without violence, so I stabbed him“.
Reports indicate: Peoria Police knew this was a crack house”. Wow! I feel safer already that they “knew”. Were they ever going to shut it down? Or is the City’s Policy to wait until there is a killing?
Being a landlord and not tolerating any illegal activity in any of my properties, its hard to believe these houses remain operating drugs.
I truly belive that Landlords, the City, and the Police Dept. need to take a hard look at what is becomming a rampid problem in our nieghborhoods. The thought of Landords, or the Police knowingly letting these properties operate illegal drugs is a tragedy.
